Port Lockroy, Goudier Island / Antarctica 64°49,6’S; 063°30,0’W

Here we are – at Port Lockroy. Today this feels a bit funny. On the one hand I am all excited and looking forward to spending ten days at the base, but on the other side I am a bit sad to leave all my friends… .

I collected my few little bits and pieces while Esther was taking care of the passports and getting all the post-cards sorted out again.

We packed everything into a sort of waterproof bag – including myself. The weather was not the best today; it was pretty windy out there plus it was occasionally raining a bit. Anyhow; we safely made it over to Goudier Island and Port Lockroy. At Bransfield House I was greeted by Sarah and Stephen – who were really happy to see me and looking forward to having me around.

Lisa joined us a bit later – and together we watched the “National Geographic Explorer” take off without us… .
